Derrière ce nom à rallonge, emprunté au titre d'une chanson oubliée d'Earl T. Wilson, se cache Morgan Caris, un songwriter d’une trentaine d’années dont l’écriture introspective évoque autant Nick Drake ou Léonard Cohen que leurs descendants légitimes : Sufjan Stevens, Will Oldham, Cat Power ou Smog.

Reminiscent of early Leonard Cohen or late Nick Drake records, for its soft melodies, quiet guitars and bare arrangements, it also evokes Smog or the Silver Jews for its bone dry and sometimesdarkly sarcastic lyrics.

Le français Guillaume Eluerd est né à Versailles en 1970. Après une série de production sous le speudonyme de Nimp, il revient aujourd’hui son son vrai nom et nous édlivre “The Year Of The Dog” , un premier album de songwriting d’une maturité et d’une efficacité qui impressionne !

Frenchman, Guillaume Eluerd (pronounce L.U Air), was born in Versailles, France, in 1970. His personalDNA test states that he’s a considerate artist. After releasing several electronica records over the last few years under the name of NIMP, Eluerd recently finished recording his first solo ‘songwriter’s’ album. Being a scriptwriter in the computer gaming industry means that Guillaume spends a lot of his time making up stories and trying to figure out what imaginary people would say to one another in made up conversations. His music seems to come from the same thought process. Midway between the roughness of Americana Acid Folk luminaries Devendra Banhart and the aching and subtle beauty of Sweden’s José Gonzalez, Eluerd’s songs hypnotise the right hemisphere while entertaining the left.
